The Fate Of Lebanon (a Sociologist Examines The Lebanese Crisis) – Munir Khoury

Munir Khoury was Assistant Professor of Rural Education and Rural Sociology at the American University of Beirut from 1956 until 1961, after which he serves as the United Nations Regional Advisor on Community Development. In 1962, Khoury was imprisoned for seven years following the Failed Coup by the Syrian Nationalist Party, which he supported and presided over. He was appointed Chairman of the Social Science Department in the Lebanese American University between 1970-1977, and again from 1986 until 1988, and he continued to teach until his retirement in 1995.

Khoury is the author of among other books, Lebanon Reality and Destiny (1982), My Life’s Journey (2003), and most recently, The Limits of Society (2006), all of which were published in Arabic.
