Amal Zayat, Lebanese, is currently working on a poetry book that is a tribute to her dear friend, Farah Omar, who was martyred in November 2023 when she and the AlMayadeen crew were tragically targeted by an Israeli airstrike. The poems reflect resilience, grief, longing, and nostalgia, capturing their shared love for the South of Lebanon and Palestine. This collection is deeply personal, intertwining themes of loss and strength, while honoring her memory and the places she loved most.
